Anti-Wrinkle Treatment

What are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?

Wrinkle Relaxing Injections (Botox) is used in ant-ageing treatments to soften and prevent unwanted lines and wrinkles. It works by injecting botulinum toxin type A into specific muscles which blocks the nerve signal that tell the muscles to contract. Thus then relaxes the muscles, resulting in a gentle softening of deeper lines and wrinkles, and in some instances, temporarily eradicates them.

At SB Beauty & Aesthetics we predominantly use anti-wrinkle injections to reduce the signs of facial ageing, addressing a number of concerns such as; crows feet, forehead lines and frown lines.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I a suitable candidate for anti-wrinkle injections?

Botulinum toxin type A is a prescription only medication and therefore all patients are required to have a face to face consultation in order to assess their suitability for this treatment. This treatment is not advised if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or undergoing IVF. During your consultation we will discuss your medical history and this will be taken into account before proceeding with the treatment.

Does this treatment have any side effects or risks?

There is the possibility that a small mark where the treatment has been administrated may be visible immediately after treatment. This however usually settles within a few minutes and rarely results in even mild bruising. Providing anti-wrinkle injections are administered by a qualified, trained practitioner, they are considered to be a very safe treatment with extremely low complication rate.

When will I see results of the treatment?

The medication can take 10-14 days to take effect and over that time you will notice a reduction in the strength of the muscle contraction. Your practitioner will then see you for a face to face review around day 14 to assess your results.

How long will the results last?

Treatment results and longevity vary from patient to patient. On average the treatment lasts 3-4 months.
